Still Standing

Sint Maarten is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. It's also one of the most jarring. Drive five minutes in any direction and you'll pass an elegant villa, a collapsed hut, a rusted shipwreck, and a beach that looks like a screensaver, sometimes all on the same block. Seven years after Hurricane Irma, the island isn't broken. It's just still carrying the break.
